Dave Seah discusses the difference between a
specialist designer and a
storytelling designer. Regarding the storytelling designer, he expresses that "the primary goal is not to produce to a functional spec, but to create a story
about the client [or product], with the client in the hero-protagonist role."

In the book
Designing for Interaction, Dan Saffer does not recommend that generic or stock images are used in storyboards because "they will come off as stilted and likely won't be specific enough to match the scenario."
